OSU Chosen to Host Bundle of NCAA Championships
OSU got a lot.
Across the next five years, five NCAA Championship teams will be crowned in or around Stillwater.
In February, schools submitted bids to host events spanning from 2022-23 to 2025-26. The NCAA announced host cities for select national championships Wednesday, and Oklahoma State was well represented. Here is the list of events OSU will be the host school of:
2022 men’s cross-country
2022 women’s cross-country
2023 wrestling (in Tulsa)
2024 men’s tennis
2024 women’s tennis
2025 men’s golf (regionals)
“What a great opportunity for all of us here at Oklahoma State to host these events,” OSU athletic director Mike Holder said in OSU’s release. “Our facilities are some of the best around, and I know that our people will make these events truly special for all involved.”
The 2020 tennis and cross-country championships were supposed to be held in Stillwater before the COVID-19 pandemic altered those plans, but OSU found its way back on the list in both sports.
OSU’s 2025 golf bid secured it the opportunity to host a regional at Karsten Creek. It’s isn’t quite the 2018 national championship, but it’s postseason golf.
“Often times, we talk about creating championship opportunities for our student-athletes and that was a great example of what it looks like,” Holder said. “We’re so thankful to have great support from the Stillwater community and look forward to creating similar memories in this next cycle.”
