โข Interesting tidbit here on the timing of Mike Holder’s contract with that of President Burns Hargis’ summer 2021 retirement:
Also on June 20, 2021, there is the expiration of Holderโs contract. His presumed successor โ deputy athletic director Chad Weiberg โ already has an office at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Holder isnโt talking. No one else seems to know whether a Holder-Weiberg transition would happen sooner or later.

With that being said – if you had told me in 2013/2014 (when Gundy flirted with Baylor/Tennessee) that Mike would appear to outlast Holder, Mr. Pickens, and Burns Hargis…
โข Why even a 10-1 Oklahoma State would likely be left out of the Playoff
โข This would be the Big 12 title game I’d love to see OSU in:
This one is relatively simple. If the Cowboys and Longhorns win out, they meet in Arlington. OSU would be 8-1, Texas would be 7-2. OU would have at least three losses (courtesy of Bedlam), KSU would have at least three losses and Iowa State would be at best 7-2, with a loss to Texas.

Note: I (personally) would rather not be in the title game if OSU has to play OU in it. I just don’t need two football losses against the Sooners in my life in 2020.
โข I think I agree with this take by the TulsaWorld columnist on why the Pokes can only blame themselves after Saturday… but I think you have to at least acknowledge the penalty discrepancy
โข Stadium‘s Brett McMurphy still has the Pokes in the Cotton Bowl
โข Chris Lacy getting a shot with the Cowboys – same capacity that Dez is with the Ravens.
โข OSU was reprimanded by the Big 12 for their tricky field goal graphic on Saturday – and this cheeky remark about the reason why they were scolded resonates:

In light of #ElectionSZN, thought this take on “The American ‘Way of Life'” was really good – pulled this take from a newsletter I love getting monthly:
No matter how much we may fantasize about a world perfectly crafted to reflect our beliefs, surrounded by people who share our taste and convictions, the truth is that America works only if starkly different people are willing to vote in the same precincts, to respect each otherโs rights and traditions, and to remain civil at city council meetings.
