Report: Oklahoma State to Play NC State in Hall of Fame Showcase
The Cowboys are 2-0 all-time against the Wolfpack.
The Cowboys’ nonconference schedule continues to come into focus.
On Friday, Stadium’s Jeff Goodman reported that Oklahoma State would face NC State in the Hall of Fame Showcase at Mohegan Sun on Nov. 16-17.
The Cowboys and the Wolfpack first met in 1991 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. It was Eddie Sutton’s first year at the helm, and the Cowboys dispatched the Wolfpack 73-64 to move on to face Temple in the Sweet 16.
The two programs also met in the early part of the 2012-13 season when Travis Ford’s unranked Pokes thumped then-6th ranked NC State 76-56 thanks to a 23-point game from Le’Bryan Nash and 20 more from Marcus Smart.
NC State is one of at least three high-major programs the Cowboys will play in their 2021-22 nonconference slate. It was announced last month that the Pokes would host Xavier on Dec. 5 as part of the Big 12/Big East Battle. OSU will also travel to Gainesville for the Big 12/SEC Challenge for a game against Florida.
