OSU Makes the Top 8 for Touted 2024 Forward Ryan Jones Jr.
The Cowboys made the cut for a touted top-60 prospect.
It was an eventful Monday for Mike Boynton & Co.
The Cowboys made the top eight for top-60 big man Ryan Jones Jr. on Monday night. Also on his list are Missouri, Louisville, Miami, Virginia Tech, Xavier, Florida and LSU.
This news came just hours after OSU was included in the top eight for 2024 guard Brooks Bahr.
Who is He?
Jones is a 6-foot-8, 225-pound power forward hailing from The Rock School in Gainesville, Florida. He’s a touted stretch four that can do damage on the block and from beyond the arc. That’s an enticing commodity for any team, much less the Cowboys who have suffered in the 3-point shooting department of late and are having to replace most of their big men heading into this fall.
The Cowboys were the latest school to offer Jones, extending a scholarship to both he and his high school teammate Kameren Wright, a four-star prospect according to ESPN, in July.
In the Rankings
Depending on whether he’s classified as a center or power forward, Jones is listed at the top-10 in his position group by most recruiting outlets.

Others Involved
Among those in his top group, the report lists planned visits to Missouri, Florida, Miami, LSU, Xavier and Virginia Tech, according to 24/7 High School Hoops.
OSU in 2024
OSU has yet to secure a commitment for 2024, but with all the moving pieces, that might change soon. This makes the fourth 2024 target to include OSU in his final group over the last month, to go with Brooks Bahr, four-star prospects Caden Diggs and Kuol Atak.
