Four-Star Guard Christian Jeffrey Includes Oklahoma State in Top Group
Could Jeffrey be Lutz’s first high school commitment?
Steve Lutz could be on the way to landing his first high school commitment since taking over at Oklahoma State.
Christian Jeffrey, a 2025 guard, announced his top eight on Sunday: Oklahoma State, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Butler, Michigan, Maryland and Mississippi State. A 6-foot-3 guard, Jeffrey played his high school ball at the highly touted Mt. Zion Prep in Lanham, Maryland this past season, but he is from New York. Among the major recruiting services, On3 is the highest on Jeffrey, listing him as the No. 68 player in all of the 2025 class.
Listed as the No. 93 player in the 247Sports Composite ranking, Jeffrey played with the New Heights Lightning in Nike’s EYBL circuit this summer. In April and May, Jeffrey averaged 11.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists a game in EYBL action. That stretch was highlighted by a 22-point outing against Boo Williams on May 19 where Jeffrey went 11-for-15 from the field and added four rebounds, five assists and a trio of steals.
Then at Peach Jam earlier this month, Jeffrey took a step further into the limelight by averaging 17 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists in six games. He shot 56% from the field and 60% from 3 at Peach Jam.
Jeffrey has been a longtime target of the Cowboys — regardless of coaching staff. He initially announced an OSU offer last September under the Mike Boynton regime before tweeting out on July 15 that he was offered by the new staff. He took an official visit to Stillwater in February when Boynton was the coach.
OSU was busy on the recruiting trail the past month, sending out double-digit offers, a handful of which went out to 2025 prospects. The Cowboys do have a 2025 commit in Oklahoman Carlsheon Young, but Young committed early under Boynton — doing so all the way back in October. It’s still quite early in the 2025 cycle, but Young’s commitment alone puts the Pokes as the No. 25 team in 247Sprots’ rankings.
