The Cowboys’ defense could add a second four-star prospect to their 2025 recruiting class as soon as Saturday.

Four-star defensive back Jayden Sanders announced Friday that he is down to three schools: Oklahoma State, Michigan and Baylor. He also announced that he will make his college decision on Saturday.

Listed at 6-foot-2, 175 pounds, Sanders is the No. 318 player in the 247Sports Composite ranking for the 2025 class. 247Sports itself lists him as the No. 214 player in the class, and On3 considers him as the No. 203 in the class.

Sanders plays his high school ball at Kilgore High School in Texas, where he had 26 tackles, three interceptions and four pass breakups as a junior. Kilgore went 12-2 last season, falling in the quarterfinals of the Texas 4A-DI playoffs. He also plays receiver and returns kicks for the Bulldogs.

Recruiting services list Sanders as a corner (the No. 30 corner in the Composite ranking). OSU was his first Division-I offer, coming June 7, 2023. When he announced that offer, Sanders included mentions to OSU defensive coordinator Bryan Nardo and safeties coach Dan Hammerschmidt in his tweet. Sanders took an official visit to Stillwater in April.

To go with his top three, Sanders also has offers to Texas Tech, Arizona State, Kansas State, Michigan State, TCU, SMU, Kansas, Houston and others.

After a hot start to the 2025 cycle, the Cowboys’ class sits 53rd nationally and 11th in the Big 12, according to 247Sports, with 16 commits. The class has two defensive backs in Dallas safety Ayden Webb and Richardson, Texas’ Kobi Foreman. After quarterback Adam Schobel flipped his commitment to TCU, the Pokes’ class is down to one four-star (per 247) in Port Arthur, Texas defensive lineman Michael Riles. Should Sanders commit, it would bump the Pokes’ class up to the No. 48 class nationally and ahead of Arizona to No. 10 in the Big 12.
