Oklahoma State Offers Syracuse Cornerback Commit Jaxson Gates
Gates is a speedster, running a dozen sub-11 100 meter sprints this year.
Class of 2026 recruiting is slowly down a hair entering the summer months, but a cornerback from California announced an Oklahoma State offer on Friday.
Jaxson Gates is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound corner out of Damien High School in La Verne, California. Syracuse was Gates’ first offer back in October. He committed to the Orange in November, but his recruitment has started to pick up a bit here lately, with Utah and BYU extending offers in May and now OSU getting involved.

Gates is the No. 889 player in the 247Sports Composite ranking for the class. 247Sports considers Gates a top 50 corner in the cycle.
Along with the offers previously mentioned, Gates also has offers to Michigan State, Boise State, Colorado State, Oregon State, UNLV and others.
As a junior at Damien, Gates made 30 tackles and six pass breakups, according to MaxPreps. He’s a speedster, as well, with Athletic.net crediting Gates with a dozen sub-11 100-meter sprints this year, including a personal best 10.39 on April 28.
OSU has a dozen players committed in its 2026 class, a group that ranks 25th nationally and fourth among Big 12 programs. That group features four defensive backs in Jason Bradford (Temple, Texas), Victor Lincoln Jr. (Lancaster, Texas), Carter Langenderfer (Owasso) and Josiah Vilmael (Richmond, Texas).
