New Oklahoma State Coach Eric Morris Arrives in Stillwater

‘I still believe football is tough. We’re gonna do tough things in this program.’

Eric Morris walked through the tunnel into Boone Pickens Stadium for the first time as the Cowboys’ coach on Sunday.

Morris will be introduced as Oklahoma State’s coach Monday at an event in the OSU Alumni Center. Morris, his wife (Maggie) their sons (Jack and George) made the short flight up to Stillwater on Sunday, with OSU’s media team chronicling the trip.

Mother nature greeted the Morris family with high of 43 with the real feel hanging around in the 20s on Sunday.

From the tarmac to Boone Pickens Stadium. With OSU athletic director Chad Weiberg in tow, the Morris family made the walk the Cowboys’ new coach will make on gameday from the locker room to the field.

Later in the evening, OSU shared some of what Morris said in his first team meeting.

“As you get to know me, the one thing I’m gonna invest in here more than anything is I’m gonna invest in you guys, and we’re gonna build a relationship,” Morris said. “And that means we gotta spend time together, and we’re gonna do that. …

“I still believe football is tough. We’re gonna do tough things in this program.”
