OSU Wrestling: Three Future Cowboys Win at Ironman
It was a successful weekend in Ohio for future Cowboys.
One of the premier high school wrestling tournaments of the year took place this weekend in Ohio, and three future Cowboys won their respective brackets.
Michael White (190), Jayden Raney (132) and Jordyn Raney (144) all won at Ironman. Class of 2026 signee Luke Hamiti (175) took sixth, while Class of 2027 commit Ignacio Villasenor (126) finished fourth.
White pledged to the Pokes in August, flipping his commitment from Minnesota to do so. He hasn’t been wrestling long relative to his competition, just starting as a high school freshman.
He was the 6 seed in the 190-pound bracket. After receiving a bye in the first round, he pinned his first opponent before earning a 7-3 decision against 3 seed Aaron Stewart, a Fargo and Super 32 champion who is committed to Illinois.
White faced off against 2 seed Jimmy Mastny, an Iowa State commit, in the semifinal and built a 6-0 lead after a period that nearly ended in White pinning Mastny.
Mastny clawed those six points back in the final period, scoring a takedown and two nearfall points as time expired to set up sudden-victory.
Just about right off the whistle in the extra frame, White got in on a double-leg and powered through to a match-winning takedown.

White got 5 seed C.J. Betz, a Penn commit, in the final and won via a 14-6 major decision.
Both Raney twins, both 1 seeds in their brackets, stormed through their competition.
After a first-round bye, Jayden went tech, pin, tech to make the semis against 4 seed Vincenzo Anello, a Princeton commit. Jayden shut out Anello 5-0, earning four nearfall points in the second and an escape in the third.
The final went chalk, as Jayden took on 2 seed Nathan Rioux, a Purdue signee. Jayden won the bout 8-3, with takedowns in the first and third periods.
Jordyn pinned his first opponent in 14 seconds.. In fact, three of his five matches ended with the official slapping the mat. Another ended in a technical fall.

The only guy who took Jordyn the distance was 2 seed Tyler Dekraker, a Minnesota commit, in the final. Jordyn won that match 4-0 and was threatening back points throughout.
