Oklahoma State Announces Offensive Line, Assistant Defensive Line Coaching Hires

Oklahoma State announced two more coaches who have joined Eric Morris’ staff on Wednesday.

Cody Crill is set to coach the OSU offensive linemen, while Mike O’Guin will serve as an assistant defensive line coach. FootballScoop reported the O’Guin hire a few days ago, noting that he’ll coach OSU’s defensive tackles.

Crill served as the offensive coordinator at Incarnate Word for Morris’ entire tenure with UIW, and he then rejoined Morris at North Texas as the Mean Green’s O-line coach ahead of this past season.

Crill has vast experience at many different levels. He was Navarro College’s head coach from 2015 through 2017 before joining on at Incarnate Word with Morris. Then after he and Morris parted ways, Crill went to coach the DC Defenders’ O-line. He rejoined the college ranks by coaching Marshall’s offensive line in 2024 before rejoining forces with Morris in Denton.

O’Guin is a rare addition from outside of Morris’ North Texas staff. He joins after coaching Texas State’s defensive line for the past three seasons. Before that, he served as Sam Houston’s defensive line coach and defensive recruiting coordinator — with that two-year stint coming before new OSU defensive coordinator Skyler Cassity coached at Sam Houston.

But O’Guin does have a prior link to Cassity, as both served as Texas Tech graduate assistants in 2019.

While O’Guin was at Texas State in 2023, the Bobcats led the nation in tackles for loss and ranked in the top 10 in sacks.

After a knee injury cut his playing career short, O’Guin started his coaching career as a student assistant at SMU in 2011. From there he went and coached in the high school ranks before taking that gig as a Tech GA with Cassity. O’Guin was then a defensive line assistant at Notre Dame in 2020.

The Cowboys won’t be short on defensive line coaches with Greg Richmond, Ike Eguae and now O’Guin being on board.

Crill is among the first offensive coaches who have been announced, joining OC/QB coach Sean Brophy and RB coach/running-game coordinator Patrick Cobbs.
