Sneed, a freshman last year, spent her only season of college ball at Utah. She finished fourth in minutes while averaging 6.3 points (fifth-most), 2.2 rebounds, a team-high 3.3 assists and finished just shy of one steal per game to finish with the second most steals on the team.
She shot 39.5% from the floor and 33.9% from beyond the arc, making 20-of-59.
“LA is one of the best true point guards in the country,” Hoyt said in OSU’s release. “Her experience as a true freshman in the Big 12 is a rarity and we cannot wait to build on that moving forward. She is exceptional at creating paint touches to score or pass, which is perfect fit for us offensively.
“Defensively, her ball pressure and ability to create chaos is going to be a fun thing for our fans to watch and us to coach. She is a coach’s kid with a blue-collar work ethic that has prepared her to handle things a lot of players shy away from.”
Sneed’s first start came in December, and she started most of the games after that, including each of the final eight. Sneed didn’t have her best outing against the Cowgirls late in the season when she finished with five points, two rebounds and one assist after 21 minutes on the court.
She scored double-digit points four times overall, including a 15-point showing against West Virginia when she knocked down a career-high three 3-pointers on only four attempts.
Sneed posted a career-high nine assists in her second game and finished with at least five in six total games, including three times in Big 12 play.
The Cowgirls are set to look much different next year, with Stailee Heard the only expected returner. Sneed is the third portal commitment for Hoyt, joining DII player of the Year Talexa Weeter and Oklahoma native Ellie Brueggemann.
