The Cowboys’ new staff appears to be circling some in-state 2027 standouts.

After Broken Arrow defensive back Bryson Brown set a commitment date this weekend, newly offered Pryor receiver Cooper Hooker announced Tuesday that he’ll pick his college on Thursday. On top of that, Bixby linebacker Cain Brackney announced he received an Oklahoma State offer on Monday.

We’ve already written on Brown announcing his date, but here’s a little more on the two most recent bits of news.

Hooker Picking Program Thursday

On May 11, Hooker announced he picked up an Oklahoma State offer. Two days later he announced he’d set up an official visit to Stillwater for the end of the month. And now Hooker has announced that 10 days after his OSU offer, he’s going to pick a college.

Hooker will make his announcement at 1 p.m. Thursday. Along with OSU, he has offers to Texas State, East Carolina, Arkansas State and others.

He’s a 5-foot-9, 170-pound speedster who has played at Salina but will play at Pryor as a senior. He has a lasered 40 time of 4.44 and a 4.38 shuttle.

The 247Sports Composite ranking lists Hooker as the No. 1,425 player in the 2027 class, listing him as the top receiver in the state.

Hooker missed his sophomore season with a broken fibula but returned as a junior to the tune of 50 receptions for 850 yards and 15 touchdowns. He scored 22 total touchdowns this past season as Salina went 10-2 and made the second round of the 2A-II playoffs.

Along with his track speed, Hooker is a switch-hitting shortstop. He hit .467 as a junior with five home runs.

Brackney Announces OSU Offer

Brackney committed to UCLA on April 24, but that hasn’t stopped schools from coming in with offers.

Since that commitment, Brackney has announced offers to Colorado, Indiana, Oklahoma State and Baylor.

Listed at 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, Brackney is the No. 1,104 player in the 247Sports Composite ranking, with 247 listing him as a Top 100 linebacker in the class and a Top 15 player from Oklahoma.

He played at Union last season, finishing the year with 102 tackles, a dozen tackles for loss, two sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
