A big bodied corner from the Lone Star State is closing in on his college decision and has the Cowboys in his final group.

On Tuesday evening, J’lynnd Kellow announced that he’ll make his college announcement next Tuesday (June 9) and is down to Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Iowa State, Mississippi State, Kansas and Baylor.

Listed at 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, Kellow hails from Willis, Texas — a town of about 7,000 north of Houston. He’s the No. 1,028 player in the 247Sports Composite ranking for the 2027 class, making him a Top 100 corner in the cycle and the No. 134 player from Texas.

According to MaxPreps, Kellow made 46 tackles during his junior season to go with 14 pass breakups and two forced fumbles. Here’s a look at his highlights:

He also plays on the Willis basketball team:

Kellow has official visits set to four of his finalists: Mississippi State (May 28), Oklahoma State (June 4), Arkansas (June 5), Iowa State (June 12). Based off the timing of his announcement, Mississippi State might be considered the favorite, as his official to Starkville has already taken place. But — unless he cancels them — those visits to OSU and Arkansas would come before he makes his announcement.

Via corners coach Julian Wilson, OSU extended its offer to Kellow in late February. He was then in Stillwater for the Cowboys’ spring game in April. He also took unofficial visits to Iowa State, Baylor and Arkansas this spring.

OSU’s 2027 class is growing. The Cowboys are up to four pledges in the cycle, led by quarterback Carson White (Iowa Colony, Texas). OSU also has two in-state pledges in Pryor receiver Cooper Hooker and Broken Arrow defensive back Bryson Brown. Arizona tight end Talan Scott is the Pokes’ most-recent commit.
