Players to Watch

Drew Mestemaker (OSU QB) — Mestemaker led the nation in passing as a redshirt freshman at North Texas last season, completing 69% of his 463 attempts for 4,379 yards and 34 touchdowns.

Baylor Hayes (Tulsa QB) — Hayes took Tulsa to Boone Pickens Stadium as a redshirt freshman last season and won. He finished his first year as a college starter with 2,158 passing yards, 190 rushing yards and accounted for 15 TDs.

Caleb Hawkins (OSU RB) — As a true freshman at North Texas in 2025, Hawkins led the nation in touchdowns scored, and he wasn’t getting regular playing time the first few weeks of the season. He ran for 1,434 yards, had 370 receiving yards and scored 29 times.

Damari Alston (Tulsa RB) — A four-star prospect coming out of high school, Alston spent the first four years of his college career at Auburn, where he took 162 handoffs for 809 yards and six touchdowns.

Jaleel Johnson (OSU DE) — Eric Morris tabbed Johnson as OSU’s most disruptive player of spring ball, as he looks to have a breakout senior season. Johnson has played 26 games as a Cowboy, having made 49 tackles, six tackles for loss and three sacks.

Kyran Duhon (Tulsa DE) — Duhon went from OSU to Tulsa this offseason. With the Cowboys in 2025, Duhon played in 11 games and made 16 tackles and two tackles for loss. Before that, he was at UTEP as a freshman, where he went off to the tune of 43 tackles and seven sacks.
