Two more Cowboys were honored by the Big 12 for their performances this past week.

Ethan Wesloski was named a conference Defensive Player of the Week, while Sam Keltner was named a Special Teams Player of the Week for their roles in Oklahoma State’s 42-28 win against UCF.

This is the third time this season both guys have earned there respective weekly honor, and OSU has collected 11 weekly honors in total already this season.

Wesloski made 17 tackles — marking the second straight game he’s tied his career-high. He now sits at second in the Big 12 in total tackles with 53 despite having played only five games because of OSU’s early bye, while some other teams have played six. His 10.6 tackles per game leads the conference.

Wesloski is a 6-foot-1, 234-pound redshirt senior linebacker from McKinney, Texas. He previously spent his entire college career at North Texas before transferring this offseason. Last season was a breakout for Wesloski, as he made 113 tackles and nine tackles for loss. Even with the jump up in competition, Wesloski projects to finish with even more tackles this season, as he’s on pace for 127.2 by the end of the regular season.

Keltner hit both of his field-goal attempts against UCF, remaining perfect on the season. The first came from 40 yards out in the third quarter before he hit from 29 yards out in the fourth.

He’s one of three Big 12 kickers to be 100% on the year, but he’s made more than the other two put together. His dozen makes lead the league and are tied for third nationally. He’s one of 15 kickers nationally to still be perfect to this point, and among that group he has made the most kicks.

A redshirt sophomore from Keller, Texas, Keltner transferred to OSU this past offseason from SMU. He was 14-for-20 for the Mustangs last season, finishing the year with 78 total points. Through five games as a Cowboy, he’s already up to 55 total points.
