Report: OSU Could Add Junior College Offensive Lineman Before Signing Day
Oklahoma State’s 2017 class is all but finished. However with several last-minute decommitments at the offensive line position, the Cowboys could realistically could add a prospect (or two) at the horn that would fill out the class.
One of those slots could go to 2017 junior college prospect Larry Joubert.
According to a report from GoPokes.com, Joubert visited this past weekend. And while he didn’t leave with an offer, there’s a real chance that he could be a last-second addition — depending on how things shake out with another recruit waiting in the wings.
“It went good,” Joubert told Scout’s Robert Allen. “My parents were there and we went in and spoke with Coach Gundy and he told us the situation. He said they had another linemen they were looking at and that they would know by Monday if they would have a scholarship for me. So, I should know for sure on Monday.”
Joubert, a NEO prospect who played for Douglass High School in OKC, would have three years to play two — meaning a redshirt might be an option should OSU opt to stash him for the upcoming season. At 6-foot-4, 265 pounds and an offensive guard – a position mostly set for next season – that could be an intriguing option for both parties.
New Mexico signed Joubert in December, however it seems that it did not bind him to to school. So OSU is realistically in play and, from what it seems, would be a likely landing spot if OSU makes an offer.
