North Texas Makes OSU Reference After Beating Tulsa
UNT had a little fun with the postgame tweet.
The Cowboys’ Week 1 loss to Tulsa continues to not make any sense, with the latest example coming Thursday night.
North Texas, Eric Morris’ old squad, went to Tulsa to play the Golden Hurricane in American Conference action. After Oklahoma State lost 24-10 at H.A. Chapman Stadium, the Mean Green went there and won 45-44 in overtime.
In winning, the UNT X account poked a little fun at the circumstance.

If you’re not up to date on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that’s a scene from Thor: Ragnarok, in which Hela (Tulsa), let’s Thor (Oklahoma State) know he’s incapable of winning this battle. But Thor (Oklahoma State) had backup.
Could be worse than being referred to as Thor. The past two seasons, OSU has looked more like a civilian than a superhero.
It was a wild game. UNT went up 31-17 in the third quarter before the Golden Hurricane stormed back and forced OT. The Mean Green scored first in OT before Tulsa went for a 2-point conversion and the win but came up short.
Tulsa is now 3-2, having lost back-to-back games to Arkansas and UNT.
Under former West Virginia coach Neal Brown, the Mean Green is also 3-2.
Both schools look to be competitive in the American Conference, but OSU’s loss in T-Town is looking more and more like an aberration given the Cowboys have gone 3-0 since, scoring 46.3 points a game while averaging 608.3 yards of total offense a contest.
