Ashton Lampkin Reportedly Suffers Torn ACL, Out for Season

Former OSU cornerback Ashton Lampkin, a rookie competing for a roster spot with the Kansas City Chiefs, suffered an ACL tear during practice on Sunday that will likely end his season and potentially his Chiefs tenure.
According to Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest, the injury will require season-ending surgery.

The ACL tear is a devastating blow for Lampkin, who has enjoyed a successful preseason and training camp. He appeared in all three of Kansas City’s preseason games and recorded four tackles, proving to be worthy of consideration for a spot on the 53-man roster. But with this new development, it’s entirely possible Kansas City cuts ties with him.
Lampkin signed with the Chiefs earlier this spring as an undrafted free agent along with his fellow former teammate Jordan Sterns, who was recently waived after missing several practices due to illness.
