Saturday proved that on any given day any Big 12 team can beat another. Except for Oklahoma State.

The Cowboys are still the only Big 12 team without a conference win at 0-6 in league play after a 42-21 loss to Arizona State. Meanwhile, as the expected happened in Stillwater, there was pandemonium across the rest of the Big 12.

Here’s what happened throughout the rest of the Big 12 this weekend.

Texas Tech 23, No. 11 Iowa State 22

The Red Raiders pulled off the biggest upset of the weekend in the Big 12, handing Iowa State its first loss of the season. Tahj Brooks scored a five-yard TD with only 20 seconds left to give Tech the lead before the Red Raiders held ISU to secure the upset.

The upset opened up the race to Arlington even more, knocking the Cyclones down a peg, while also keeping Tech’s hopes alive at 6-3. BYU, which was off this week, is the last unbeaten team left in the Big 12.

Houston 24, No. 17 Kansas State 19

Tech wasn’t the only team to notch an upset Saturday. Houston upended Kansas State in another close one. The Cougars went into the fourth quarter down 19-10 before scoring a pair of unanswered TDs. The dagger was Zeon Chriss’ 41-yard run with 2:31 left, then Houston picked off Avery Johnson the next drive and stopped the Wildcats again on Houston’s 39-yard line.

At 4-5, Houston could now reach a bowl after winning back-to-back games for the first time this season. K-State, meanwhile, will have to keep clawing to stay in the hunt for a Big 12 title at 7-2.

UCF 56, Arizona 12

Arizona’s first Big 12 season is not going well, and the Wildcats also got the experience of visiting Orlando during UCF’s Space Game. The Knights put up 602 total yards in the win, which ended a five-game losing streak for UCF (4-5). Arizona has now lost five in a row and still has only one Big 12 win over Utah on Sept. 28, the week after the Utes beat OSU.

Baylor 37, TCU 34

There was no #Big12AfterDark this weekend, so Baylor and TCU finished things with a close one in Waco. With the game tied, Isaiah Hankins made a 33-yard field goal as time expired to give the Bears (5-4) their third win in a row. TCU, also at 5-4, will host OSU on Saturday after winning two of its last three.
