OSU flipped a four-star quarterback commit from Baylor to the Pokes (PFB)

• Cowboys are holding a commitment from the Mike Boynton era to stick with the Pokes (PFB)

• Tall task on the table for Steve Lutz and Co.

Three weeks into Steve Lutz’s hiring, the Cowboys have just four players on the roster.

Bryce Thompson, Jamyron Keller and Connor Dow are the only players from last season’s Oklahoma State squad who haven’t entered the portal or exhausted their eligibility. That trio is joined by Class of 2024 signee Jeremiah Johnson, who PFB has learned is sticking with his commitment to the Pokes even after the staff change.

So, that leaves nine scholarships, as of writing, that Lutz and his staff have to fill.

• Here’s what a recruiting analyst had to say about Adam Schobel’s prospects:

“Schobel is a consistent passer who is at his most effective attacking the first two levels of the defense on in-rhythm and play-action throws, but has made a noticeable jump this offseason in terms of velocity generated on the ball,” Standish said. “While Schobel isn’t a true dual-threat quarterback he still offers enough pocket mobility and improvisational acumen to extend plays when his initial read isn’t available. The four-star prospect also possesses a rapid release and encouraging delivery mechanics that shouldn’t need much work once arriving in Stillwater…”
