I’m in Augusta for the next 10 days. The over/under on peach ice cream sandwiches has been taken off the board in Vegas.

Bullets Rundown

• Stoner on C.J. Moore
• Simpson homers (big)

Scores

• SB: OSU 7 | Kansas 3

OSU Bullets

• Barry Switzer (!) weighs in on the Eddie Sutton HOF snub.

Sutton passed that hurdle but didn’t gain the 75% of votes needed (18 of 24) to enter the Hall. Those making votes and the final outcome, again, are confidential. “They’re cowards. That pisses me off,” Switzer said. “I always thought about that when they talk about that. Step up there.” [Tulsa World]

There are some more great Switzer quotes in there. I did not see this coming!

• Tremendous strides, Dillon Stoner says of a fellow Tulsa standout.

Dillon Stoner, another former touted Tulsa area receiver, is now the seasoned vet around the receivers room, and he likes what he’s seen from Moore.

“Tremendous strides,” Stoner said on Moore’s progress. “He came in and you weren’t sure, and he’s put all of those questions and doubts aside. He’s been tearing it up and I’m excited [about] what he’s gonna do this fall… [PFB]

I thought the most interesting part of that is that Stoner said “he came in and you weren’t sure …” That’s sort of how I’ve felt about Moore. I get that he’s a four-star and obviously terrific in high school. But he was SO skinny that it was like mmmmhh idk! How dare I doubt Robert Glass.

• Speaking of Glass, he looks to have done some work with Colin Simpson, too. This monster shot he hit against WVU was incredible.

The home run was Simpson’s eighth against West Virginia in his career. During the 30-minute weather delay before the game’s start, Simpson said WVU pitcher Sam Kessler, who Simpson got to know at the Cape Cod League this summer, told him that Simpson has a quota of two home runs he has to get against the Mountaineers. Simpson said Kessler asked that Simpson didn’t hit any off him. Simpson denied said request. [PFB]

Good nuggets from Marshall Scott throughout his OSU-WVU coverage, and these photos are pretty amazing.

• Wait, Gary Gibbs is an analyst for Oklahoma State’s defense right now??

It is believed that Gibbs did inquire about becoming an analyst for the Sooners last year, but for whatever reason, it did not happen. When a third party contacted Gundy about the possibility of Gibbs doing some work for the Cowboys, the OSU coach did not hesitate. His response: Yes, of course, we want Gary Gibbs.

“I think he likes being around here,” Gundy said. “He and I have a really good relationship. He’s very beneficial for me and our defense. [Tulsa World]

• This piece on Andrew Heaney is something. There are 20 (!) f-bombs, but he’s at least honest about the frustration that comes with being a professional athlete, or maybe just a human being.

“I’ve had periods where I wake up and say, ‘I f****** hate my body. I hate what it does, I hate how it treats me,’ and I think that’s not a good mental place to be,” Heaney said. [The Athletic]

• Great stuff here from Kyle Boone on Chris Beard from Minneapolis.

• OSU gets a transfer DE from Bowling Green.

Matthew Wolff shot a 59 on Saturday. They only completed 16 holes at the Aggie Invitational, but still his scorecard says 59. More importantly, he’s leading (and so is OSU).

• Corey Williams was fired from Stetson.

Non-OSU Bullets

How Austin Kleon parents. I didn’t agree with all of it, but I thought it was interesting and good.

• The high cost of a little bit sooner.

I bought and read this Masters preview. It’s short and incredibly informative. Might be a great business model!
