Daily Bullets (December 2)
On a day when we were supposed to be pooing our pants over Bedlam II, we are instead trying to figure out is Mike Gundy is a genius or just the luckiest Oklahoman of all time.
When you're favored in all your games but go 9-3 to probably fall to the Camping World Bowl and still somehow parlay it into $5 million a year during the week of a Big 12 title game you were supposed to be playing in. pic.twitter.com/rRa4qUtu9D

Offense/Defense Efficiency
Berry Tramel rolls through the offensive and defensive efficiencies of Big 12 teams. OSU finished second in O and fourth in D. His take on the offense:
The OSU fans who don’t seem to like offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich are not grounded in reality. The Cowboy offense was phenomenal. Last year, OSU’s number was a rousing .436. But .467 is significantly better. This is a performance that ranks with Baylor’s great offenses. Just not quite as good as Baker Mayfield’s. But this is championship offense. [NewsOK]
He also notes that while the defense could be better (obviously), it could also be much, much worse.
Alamo Wants Pokes
And, in a cruel twist, we are all hoping for the Alamo. The upshot here is that it means we can root hard for TCU today because them winning is the cleanest path to both OU and TCU making a NY6 game and OSU getting to San Antonio.
“Oh, yeah,” said Rick Hill, Alamo Bowl vice president of marketing and communications, when asked if the bowl would take OSU again. “We try to steer away from back-to-back, but in talking to them they want to come. Whatever the matchup is, I think it’ll be rated a top-five matchup regardless.”
Oklahoma State had a whale of a time in San Antonio last year, blasting Colorado 38-8 to conclude a 10-3 season. This year’s OSU team also went 9-3, though the final record seems more disappointing in a 2017 season where the Cowboys had College Football Playoff aspirations. [Tulsa World]
OSU and NCAA Notes
Good story on a Cowgirl who has played all over the country before stopping in Stillwater … On the future of the spread option in the Big 12 … Winning teams in the first game are 28-28 in the rematch in recent college football history … Texas A&M fully guaranteed the $75 million! The full Aggie! … Phillip Fulmer staged a coup in Knoxville (and it worked) …
Remember, Currie fired Fulmer at UT in 2008 — as AD Mike Hamilton’s top assistant — now Fulmer ascends back to power with Currie fired.

Not sure we have fully dissected the fact that Mike Leach was basically interviewed by a rogue AD, who all but sold him on the job, before he was fired like 15 hours later.

Jason Witten, impressed with Dez.
Jason Witten on Dez Bryant: "I don't know that there's been anybody in the history of the league that can high-point the football like he does. He works at it every day. He catches more passes than anybody I've ever known over the last 8 years. I'm really proud of him."

Jimbo Fisher: The Seminole fans are intense, I gotta get out of here.
Also Jimbo Fisher: I’m going to Texas A&M.
