The Big 12 men’s basketball season is still a couple of weeks from wrapping up, but we have a fairly clear picture of the standings and how programs have stacked up in the first year of the 16-team league.

• Looking at what’s ahead of Cowboy Football this season, it’s important not to fall into the failed logic of this argument: you can’t be perceived as successful because you’re consistent… then not be consistent because college football has changed. 

You can’t have it both ways. You can’t brag about your program’s culture and positive consistency, and then expect a lowering of the bar because of the new variables.

Every program contends with the NIL, with the transfer portal and with annual roster rebuilds, and every program does what Oklahoma State’s will do this year: work the fan base for donations and command top dollar for football tickets. [TulsaWorld]
