Daily Bullets (July 27): Olympic Preview with the Pokes, Steve Lutz Shelling Out Offers
Thanks for stopping by – here’s your daily dose of Oklahoma State sports news.
Three Thoughts
• The Olympics are off and running – check here to see which Cowboys/Cowgirls will be competing. It’s wild that this is Viktor Hovland’s second Olympics to compete in! (PFB)
• Steve Lutz is shelling out of offers lately – it sounds like OSU is still trying to make meaningful additions even with the back of the roster (PFB)
• If OSU were picked in the top two in the conference, the value in this proposition would go away – but OSU picked third in the Big 12 at +700 is appealing:
However, I do find Oklahoma State, which is listed at +700, an interesting line. For my money, Mike Gundy and the Cowboys are the obvious value pick in this book.
Two Quotes
• Fun Olympic flashback to John Smith torch bearing:

• Carson Benge made the call that he’s giving up pitching:
“We set in stone that I’m just going to be an outfielder from here on out,” Benge said. “Just gonna drop pitching, focus on trying to get me up here as quick as possible. See how that turns out. As hard as it is to do one thing, it’s double amount of hard to do both, so being able to stick with one should help me.”
One Question
• Massive changes are coming to college football in the way of a change to roster sizes/scholarship limits – moving from 85 scholarship players and a roster of 120 players to now a 105 player roster size with the ability to scholarship them all. Will this help or hurt Oklahoma State?
