OSU Bullets

Out with the Yor, in with the Bryce Williams

It’s not a trade I love – junior year Yor Anei was poised for potential skill development to go with his stellar rim protection, but adding another sweet shooting guard is a sell to Cade.

Chuba Hubbard says things are changing, Gundy offers an official apology video.

Doug G. released a tweet sharing what changes (he heard) the OSU players wanted to see changed in the program. You’ll likely respond one of two ways:

  1. Why was OSU ever able to prohibit these things anyways? or
  2.  These seem like things that would benefit a person to have limited.

Amen Ogbongbemiga said it’s not all true, so take each comment with a grain of salt.

This general process is how football teams like Oklahoma State are successful.

…When you can plug in local linemen and start walk-ons at multiple positions and still successfully set up your featured playmakers to look better than the top athletes at other schools, that’s when you really nail the typical Midwest formula for contention. [Concerning Sports]

I think you swap the word “local” for “Texas” and “multiple positions” for “Cowboy Backs” and you’ve lined out how OSU’s offense has been sourced. To OSU’s credit, they’ve been able to pull more talented skill players than your K-States and Iowa States and that helps too.

Chris Carson was PFF’s greatest seventh-round steal in recent draft history – and CBS Sports has him as their seventh-best running back in the NFL:

• Why Mike Gundy and Chuba Hubbard need each other

Berry T. came after Gundy pretty strongly but I think he’s onto something with the “careless” point. To Gundy’s credit, he was humble enough to apologize.

Non-OSU Bullets

• Thought these comments framing the current unrest were great
I liked this list of 11 things I can fix on a car by myself
• This on using routine for parenting (and establishing traditions) was good

This quote strikes the line I find myself struggling with in today’s scene – gosh I struggle to assume the best (not worst motives):

In conversations about race, too often we treat disagreement as evil, and we attribute the worst motives to those who disagree with us on complex issues. [The Cripplegate]
