• Mason Rudolph signed a deal with an NFL team that’s not the Pittsburgh Steelers. CBS Sports gave the signing a “B+”. (PFB + CBS Sports)
The former Steelers quarterback agreed to a one-year deal worth $3.62 million, according to NFL Media. This is a great opportunity for Rudolph, who will likely get a chance to compete with Will Levis to be the Titans’ starting quarterback.
The quarterback market isn’t very strong, so the Titans decide to spend relatively little money while getting a 28-year-old quarterback who has promise.
• The NCAA Championship brackets were released for wrestling – here’s where all the Cowboys are seeded (PFB)
• Reading the tea leaves on what Chad Weiberg will do about Cowboy Basketball is a tough chore – but here’s a big reason why Bill Haisten calls him to do something:
Weiberg seems intensely guarded as he considers what he can do to restore Oklahoma State basketball, but there can’t be eventual action. He has to make a move because of this: In the 14-team Big 12 Conference this season, Oklahoma State was 12th in home-game attendance.
• Not OSU-specific but pundits are raving about how much fun the Big 12 could be in football this fall (On3)
• 247 Sports notes Justin Kirkland is the Cowboy to watch for a breakout this fall (247 Sports)
Non-OSU Bullets
• The short-lived Dallas airline that Southwest put out of business
• Why rest takes hard work
