NFL Update: Jaylen Warren, Chuba Hubbard and Ollie Gordon Each Had Season-Highs

Last week, we talked about how Chuba Hubbard and Jaylen Warren were looking to get more carries due to injuries in their respective RB rooms. That proved to be true. But that also happened for another former OSU tailback.

Let’s take a look around the league to see how OSU alums fared, starting with Warren’s season-best performance in a win.

Warren Leads Steelers Past Bengals

Jaylen Warren was leaned on more heavily this week with Steelers running back Rico Dowdle out with a toe injury.

Warren carried it 17 times for 127 yards, including a 35-yarder. And all that with this 87-yard run being called back due to a penalty.

Dowdle was listed as day-to-day and did not participate in the Steelers’ practice on Tuesday.

Chuba Takes the Reins

Chuba Hubbard had his own season high with 82 yards on 19 carries in the Panthers’ 21-18 loss to the Browns.

He also had four catches for 28 receiving yards. Somehow, in that catch/yards total, he had a 30-yard catch and run. He did log 42 yards after the catch.

Ollie Finds the End Zone

Gordon found pay dirt for the first time this season.

The former Cowboy took the lion’s share of handoffs in Miami’s Week 3 loss after RB1 De’Von Achane went down with injury. Achane has been ruled out for the season after being diagnosed with a torn ACL.

In his stead, Gordon carried the ball 17 times for 41 yards and that score. He also caught all three passes thrown his way for 14 receiving yards.

• Justice Hill carried it five times for 33 yards in the Ravens’ 34-31 win over the Cowboys.

• Malcolm Rodriguez logged two tackles in the Lions’ 31-24 win over the Jets.

• Teven Jenkins was listed as DNP for a back injury for the Browns on Tuesday.
