OSU Bullets
• The Cowboys strike again in the portal – getting a former four-star safety from Miami and landing a Big Ten transfer on the offensive line yesterday (PFB)
Rivals marked(safety Zaquan) Patterson as the No. 36 player in the 2024 recruiting class and the No. 3 safety in the cycle. He stayed close to home (Hollywood, Florida) by picking Miami over reported offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Florida State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M and others — not a bad list.
• Missed this on Wednesday – Cowgirl Golf punched their ticket to the NCAA Golf Championships (OKState.com)
• Cowgirls were knocked out of the first round of the Big 12 softball tournament after a tight loss to Arizona State – move into a waiting phase:
So, OSU enters the NCAA tournament at 33-18 on the season. From here, they’ll go on a team retreat and await Sunday’s selection show to find out where they’ll be headed for a Regional next weekend. [PFB]
• The Pittsburgh Steelers haven’t landed Aaron Rodgers yet, and a Cowboy will be the plan until then.
As of this writing, we still haven’t determined whether Aaron Rodgers will play in Pittsburgh this season. If he doesn’t, Mason Rudolph is the starter. Rudolph was surprisingly reasonable for the Titans last season, and his 55.5 QBR would have ranked 20th in the league had he thrown enough passes to qualify. Still, nobody looks at Rudolph and thinks he’s a starter for a playoff contender. [ESPN]
• Throwback to this fun moment in OSU sports:
