OSU Bullets
• OSU could have an unusual cap in their feather this year – one they’ve rarely even had a chance to have: college football’s best non-conference win.
Because OSU’s 16-7 victory over Tulsa way back on Sept. 19 suddenly packs a punch. We looked at that game as a detriment. The Cowboys struggled to finish off a team that went 4-8 in 2019.
But now, that victory could be the best non-conference win of any College Football Playoff contender. [NewsOK]
• This Mike Gundy presser quote from yesterday talking about the K-State game could apply to Bedlam:
“I’ll be real honest with you. I had real concerns about what directions we were gonna go in that game. Fortunately, we got really good play in special teams and defense. Offensively, we just haven’t had very many guys who are practicing.” [PFB]
• Betting lines are moving further in OU’s direction for Bedlam – more people took the Sooners and the line is moving to give OSU more points – side note: this isn’t unfamiliar territory for the Pokes
• Big 12 championship game got pushed back a week
• PFF has Cowboy Rodarius Williams as a top-five breakout player in 2020
• Can’t express how much joy there’d be in watching Cade Cunningham play for the Thunder – even better than Lincoln Riley coaching the Dallas Cowboys (two birds, one stone)
• Does OSU have a touchdown problem?
OU’s offense is a bit more dynamic than the Cowboys… but the Pokes haven’t needed the OSU offense to do that to win either.
Could definitely stand for more points but more than one way to skin a cat.
Non-OSU Bullets
• A favorite Ringer writer talked about LeBron, MJ, and Jesus (faith-based)
• ESPN insider ($$$) gives the Thunder an “A” on the Chris Paul trade (sell high, baby) – basic details of the trade here
