OSU Bullets

The Cowboys control their destiny as the crowd around them thins in the race to Arlington

What Mike Gundy had to say ahead of the West Virginia game (also, what the OSU players said)

• This seems like the right take as you peek ahead to this weekend’s game against West Virginia:

For those worried about WVU being a trap game, a couple things: 1, The Mountaineers have OSU’s full attention having just upset Iowa State and 2, The Cowboys find a way to beat these guys, with six straight wins in the series and eight wins over the last 10 meetings.

• Are the days of OSU’s defense carrying the load for OSU to win games coming to an end?

(Spencer Sanders) is rounding into form. Sanders has thrown six touchdowns and completed 61.3% of his passes for 560 total yards over the last three games. More importantly, he’s thrown just one interception in the same span.

Sanders, somewhat quietly, surged in October, and a consistent and turnover-light version of the redshirt junior passer only makes OSU more dangerous headed into November.

Keep seeing these Sugar Bowl projections to play UK – who would you like to see from these SEC standings? Pencil Bama and Georgia into the Playoff. I’d almost like Auburn or a grudge match against Ole Miss better.

• A buddy and I were talking about how this has been one of the most fun teams to cheer for – a big reason is because they just appear to enjoy each other so much. No selfishness, just a bunch of guys wanting to win.
