OSU Bullets

Pokes climb in the AP Poll, find themselves just outside the top-five – ditto in the Coaches Poll

• It feels super important for the Pokes to land juco offensive linemen like this (who have them in their top three), especially given what the Pokes have lost and may be losing:

… (W)ith Dylan Galloway, Bryce Bray and Hunter Anthony all leaving the program prematurely. OSU could lose senior starters Teven Jenkins, Josh Sills and Ry Schneider after this season, depending on whether they want to use the extra eligibility the NCAA has allowed.

• Good read on the challenges facing the CFP committee – Big 12 not sitting in great shape around the Pokes:

A little over a month into the season, the conference hasn’t exactly wowed. Even though Oklahoma State, the only remaining undefeated team, has looked stout, every other team has had disappointment. Iowa State and Kansas State, the other undefeated teams in league play, lost non-conference games to Sun Belt opponents. OU and Texas, long the faces of the league, already have two losses each.

For the record, I’m pretty sure Sills has two years left regardless – got a medical redshirt for his last year at West Virginia.

• Starting Cowboy guard Josh Sills talks about the why he chose the Pokes

Solid update on Cowboy Basketball recruiting and potential changes in dynamics with recent NCAA changes

Emmanuel Ogbah’s still doing it in Miami – then took out his coach (h/t to Carson)

• Not much going on for Cowboy fans on Saturday but this Mississippi State interception would be impossible to remake:

Non-OSU Bullets

• Adding all of these movies to my lists
• Great, deep faith-based piece on being a “phony”
• Of course I’m enjoying reading about Berry Tramel and his wife traveling New England (early in the trip and later in the trip)

Liked this take on “finding peace”:

“To a disciple who was forever complaining about others the Master said, ‘If it is peace you want, seek to change yourself, not other people. It is easier to protect your feet with slippers than to carpet the whole of the earth.’

Anthony De Mello
