Three Thoughts

• A rematch of the 2021 Big 12 championship game is on the docket for today between Mike Gundy and Dave Aranda – see TV info here and predictions here (PFB)

• HCS looked at the Cowboys’ remaining schedule and concluded it’s highly unlikely the Pokes go winless in conference play with Mike Gundy at the helm with ” their best chances of winning a game are in the next three weeks.” (HCS)

• It’s not likely given Mike Gundy’s track record of preferring veteran quarterbacks but should OSU play the true freshman quarterback? 

Who knows, maybe (Maealiuaki Smith) will end up being the future starting quarterback for Oklahoma State in 2025, but they will never know unless he gets some playing time.

• Solid question here about Steve Lutz – with multiple talented prospects visiting campus, can he copy Mike Boynton’s biggest strength? 

If Lutz can sniff Boynton’s recruiting level — which it seems like he already is — OSU basketball can be in a great spot if the new head coach is better at the X’s and O’s part of coaching. [O’Colly]
