Scandal-stained image
Great read and column from Berry Tramel on the scandal that has now tarnished Mike Boynton’s image, fair or not.
Boynton came across as the same genuine person we saw back in March and I saw over the summer during an impromptu chat. But now Boynton is stained with scandal. [NewsOK]
What’s worse for Boynton, who I actually thought handled himself well (all things considered), is that the FBI investigation is ongoing. And the guy who is facing serious jail time — his former top assistant — could potentially hold his future in his hands.
It all stinks. For everyone, really. But for the sake of OSU, Boynton, and the future of the program, I hope Boynton’s right in that he sleeps well knowing he had no involvement.
Sugar Loaf’s big impact
Good profile on defensive tackle Darrion Daniels from John Helsley here. The sangin’, outgoing big man brings a contagious energy to the Cowboys.
“I talk smack to everybody, because I’m friends with everybody,” Daniels told The Oklahoman. “There’s just such a positive vibe. There’s no negativity at all. You might see a few pushes after the whistle every once in a while, but in the locker room it’s all love. We all swim together, we play together and we dance together.” [NewsOK]
In a million [billion?] dollar industry like college football — heck, even in the media! — we tend to take things too seriously. It’s good to see Daniels, a former blue-chip recruit, hasn’t fallen into that same rut.
OSU and NCAA News
K-State-Texas on Saturday might be perfect scoutin’ for OSU … Cowgirl golf moves to No. 5 in national rankings (and owns a 21-1 record against top 50 teams!) .. Iowa State QB Jacob Park is out for the OU game (and maybe more) … Louisville places its only remaining assistants on leave .. OSU on the outside of the CFP picture
New uni’s, and no cursive?! Or is there? ?
It's more than just a uniform when it represents pride, passion and the Cowboy tradition.

These numbers stunned me. Amateur athletics!
Rick Pitino and Tom Jurich made ungodly amounts of money while Louisville athletics suffered: https://t.co/xlKfCqLVpT pic.twitter.com/tunQicRmK7
