David Castillo Official Visit Headlines Big Recruiting Weekend for Oklahoma State Basketball
Castillo is a five-star prospect, according to ESPN.

Stillwater ought to be buzzing this weekend, and Mike Boynton and his staff look to make the most of it.
With Homecoming and Hoops returning to Gallagher-Iba Arena on Friday night, Boynton and Co. will have a handful of special guests (aside from Waka Flocka Flame). All four of the Cowboys’ 2023 commits have told PFB they’ll be in attendance, and 2024 five-star prospect David Castillo told PFB he will make his first official visit to Stillwater this weekend.
Castillo, a 6-foot-1 guard out of Bartlesville, ranks as high as the No. 8 player in his class and also has offers from Kansas, Florida, Texas and others. Playing up an age group, Castillo played with Team Griffin this summer on Nike’s EYBL circuit alongside 2023 OSU commits Brandon Garrison and Connor Dow. Castillo averaged 12.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists a game while shooting 40% from the field and 40% from 3-point range.
Also a regular with USA Basketball, Castillo won gold with the Americans at the 2021 FIBA U16 Americas Championship and the 2022 FIBA U17 World Cup.
He’ll be joined in GIA by the Cowboys’ 2023 commits, a class that ranks 14th nationally with four-stars Brandon Garrison, Justin McBride and Jamyron Keller and three-star Connor Dow.
And Castillo won’t be the only uncommitted Okie in attendance. Newcastle sophomore (class of 2025) Carlsheon Young told PFB he will also be there. Young is a 6-foot-5 guard ranked 66th in his class. Oklahoma State was the first Division-I program to offer him in May. Kansas, TCU and Arizona State have since joined in.
