The Cowboys could be closing in on bolstering an already impressive 2025 recruiting class even more.

Defensive lineman prospect Xavier Ukponu has listed Oklahoma State in his group of top nine schools, according to multiple reports on Tuesday. Ukponu’s list has been narrowed down to OSU, Oregon, Washington, Cal, Florida, USC, LSU, Texas A&M and Arkansas.

At 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds, Ukponu is a consensus three-star prospect, according to all major recruiting outlets, out of Guyer High School in Denton, Texas. 247Sports ranks Ukponu as the 84th-best defensive line prospect in the country and 132nd overall recruit in the state of Texas. Outside of his top nine schools, Ukponu also reportedly holds offers from Arizona, Baylor, Houston, Kansas, Miami (FL), Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and several others.

Ukponu took an official visit to Stillwater earlier this month. OSU extended its offer in September.

Last season as a junior, Ukponu had 31 total tackles, six tackles for loss and a sack in 11 games, according to MaxPreps. Guyer went 7-4 before falling in the first round of the class 6A Texas state playoffs.

OSU already has eight commitments for its 2025 class, which currently ranks 23rd nationally and fourth in the Big 12. The only defender so far is three-star linebacker Kyle Keya, who committed April 10. The seven other commits are on the offensive side of the ball, including four-star quarterback Adam Schobel, who flipped his commitment from Baylor to OSU on Monday. Four receivers and a pair of offensive linemen round out the Pokes’ 2025 class to this point.
