Oklahoma State’s diamond teams aren’t easing themselves into their 2026 seasons. They’re jumping straight into the deep end.

In their second weekend, the Cowgirls went down to Florida for five games against ranked foes where they went 3-2. The Cowboys got three ranked opponents at the Shriners Children’s College Showdown, going 1-2 to start their year.

Here’s a quick breakdown of each team’s weekend.

Cowgirls in Florida

Weekend Results:
No. 17 Georgia — W, 6-5
No. 10 LSU — L, 9-4
No. 8 Texas A&M — W, 9-8
No. 7 UCLA — W, 4-3 (8 inn.)
No. 19 Duke — L, 9-6

Overall Record: 6-4

Standout Performances:

Rosie Davis — Davis was a combined 0-for-5 through the Cowgirls’ first two games in Florida, but then she came through in a big way.

In games against Texas A&M, UCLA and Duke, Davis was 5-for-9 (.556) with four runs scored and seven RBIs. All seven of those RBIs came in the games against A&M and UCLA, two Top 10 opponents that OSU beat via a combined two runs.

Based on her standard of hitting .333 as a freshman and .369 as a sophomore, Davis’ .250 start this season is off her normal pace. But it’s important to note how difficult OSU’s schedule has been to this point, and maybe her performances to close the Cowgirls’ time in Florida will spark her moving forward.

Karli Godwin — Speaking of junior infielders who had a big weekend, Godwin left the Sunshine State with a .429 season batting average after going 7-for-14 this weekend.

Unfortunately for the Cowgirls, there weren’t a ton of opportunities for her to drive in runs, as she had one RBI this weekend, but she did cross the plate herself five times.

Godwin’s sophomore year was a step back from her monster freshman campaign, but despite the rigors of this early schedule, she’s dominating at the plate to start her junior year.

RyLee Crandall — Cowgirl ace Ruby Meylan hasn’t had her normal stuff to start the year, which makes some of Crandall’s performances all the more massive.

Duke had some success against Crandall on Saturday, but in games against Georgia, Texas A&M and UCLA, Crandall threw 11 1/3 innings, where she gave up three runs on nine hits with four strikeouts and two walks.

Meylan will get going at some point, but in the mean time, this has been an impressive stretch from Crandall.

Cowboys in Arlington

Weekend Results:
No. 5 Arkansas — L, 12-2 (8 inn.)
No. 19 Oklahoma — L, 10-1
No. 17 Vanderbilt — W, 11-1 (8 inn.)

Overall Record: 1-2

Standout Performances:

Ethan Lund — Lund made just one start in his promising freshman season. His first appearance in 2026 was a start against Vandy, and he didn’t give up a run.

In 3 2/3 innings, Lund didn’t even give up a hit. He did issue six walks but countered that by striking out eight batters.

Kollin Ritchie — OSU’s leader in at-bats throughout the opening weekend, Ritchie hit .308, which is the best batting average among Cowboys with more than one AB. He also had seven RBIs — AKA, Ritchie drove in half of the Cowboys’ runs this weekend.

He was obviously a big piece in the Cowboys’ bounce back against Vandy, a game in which Ritchie was 3-for-5 with six RBIs and three runs scored. He hit two homers in that contest, including a walk-off solo shot that run-ruled the Commodores.

Something to Keep an Eye On

The Cowboys struck out 41 times in those three games, which included 15 Ks against Arkansas and 17 against OU.  The Cowboys struck out 10.3 times a game last season. This weekend probably had tougher competition than any NCAA Regional the Cowboys would be in, but it’s something to keep an eye on.
