Four-Star 2018 Point Guard Names Oklahoma State in His Final Four

While Oklahoma State basketball head coach Mike Boynton is still looking for his first commit of the 2018 class, OSU remains in the running for some of the top players from around the country.

That includes four-star Florida point guard Elijah Weaver, who announced his final four schools on Twitter on Wednesday.

Weaver’s list included Oklahoma State, Ohio State, Florida, and USC. He narrowed his choices down from 26 scholarship offers.

Weaver is a consensus top-50 player, and ranked as a top-10 player in Florida by both 247Sports and Rivals.

In a recent interview with Evan Daniels of Scout, Weaver broke down what he likes about OSU.

“Our relationship has been good. One of their assistants, Lamont Evans, he was a Breakdown guy. I play with Breakdown now. So we have those family ties. He always talks about how good they were back in the day and how they had the best breakdown team so we always talk about that and it just strikes up conversation. He feels like family. He talks to my dad and we don’t talk about basketball all the time, it’s more how we are doing. It’s more like family. Our connection is good.”

Weaver is scheduled to take official visits to all four of his final four schools, including Oklahoma State on September 23rd. OSU will get his final visit, which could be great. It allows the Cowboys to make the final impression on Weaver before he makes his decision.

Weaver is still considering taking a fifth visit to either Memphis, Illinois, or NC State, but has not made a decision yet.

As for when he plans to make up his mind, right now he’s considering his birthday on December 30th.
