A consensus four-star prospect appears to be rather fond of Oklahoma State.

Kayden “Bugg” Edwards released a top five last week: Oklahoma State, USC, LSU, Colorado and TCU. Edwards is a 6-foot-3 guard out of Duncanville, Texas and is listed as highly as the No. 56 player in the 2025 recruiting class. According to On3, Edwards is expected to take official visits to each of his top five schools — going Colorado (Aug. 29), OSU (Sept. 7), TCU (Sept. 12), LSU (Sept. 21) and USC (Sept. 27).

Steve Lutz and his staff came in with an offer in early June — adding to the likes of the rest of that top group, as well as Texas, Arkansas, Kansas State and others.

On3, 247Sports, ESPN and Rivals all list Edwards as a four-star prospect. 247Sports is the highest on Edwards among that group, listing him as the No. 56 player in the class. That makes him the No. 6 player out of Texas and the No. 12 shooting guard in the class.

As a junior for the growing power that is Duncanville High School, Edwards averaged 23.2 points, 2.4 assists and 3.4 rebounds a game while shooting 35% from 3.

After finishing up his current roster with the addition of Serbian big man Andrija Vukovic, Lutz has been circling the 2025 class, appearing on many top groups over recent weeks. Along with being in Edwards’ top five, the Cowboys have appeared in top groups for Sebastian Williams-Adams, Kelvin Odih, Kareem Stagg, Omari Witherspoon and Christian Jeffrey. After a summer full of retooling, Lutz and Co. will have plenty of roster spots available again next offseason. Eight scholarship players on the roster are listed as seniors. It’s likely some of that will be filled with transfer portal players, but it doesn’t look as if Lutz is punting on the 2025 class by any means.
