Oklahoma State Makes Top Group for Trio of Hoops Prospects
A look at three potential Cowboys.
Class of 2025 basketball players are starting to hone in on which college they want to attend, and Steve Lutz’s Cowboys are in on some.
Oklahoma State has made a trio of list cuts over the past week or so. The Pokes have one commit in the 2025 class in Carlsheon Young, who committed to the Cowboys under Mike Boynton. Young told PFB that he is still committed to come to Stillwater under Lutz. Here are looks at three other prospects who are considering the Cowboys.
Kelvin Odih
A 6-foot-4 guard out of Connecticut, Kelvin Odih trimmed his list of potential suitors down to six: Oklahoma State, West Virginia, Creighton, Colorado, Rutgers and Louisville.
Odih is the No. 75 prospect in the 247Sports Composite rankings for the 2025 class. That makes him a four-star recruit. On3 is the highest on him of the major recruiting services, listing him as the No. 53 player in the class.
Along with that top group, Odih has offers to Florida State, LSU, Penn State, Iowa, Marquette, SMU, Texas A&M and others. OSU was one of the latest programs to offer Odih, with the only one he has announced since being Louisville. He announced his OSU offer on July 25.
Kareem Stagg
Probably can’t go wrong with a basketball player named Kareem. Stagg is a 6-foot-8, 230-pound forward who plays at IMG Academy in Florida — though he is from Virginia. He also cut his list to six: OSU, Michigan, Georgia, Houston, Georgetown and Wake Forest.
247Sports and ESPN each hail Stagg as a four-star recruit. He comes in at No. 161 in the Composite ranking. Along with his top group, he also had offers to West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, Providence, Mississippi State, Clemson, Maryland, Missouri and others.
Playing with Boo Williams at Peach Jam last month, Stagg averaged 13.4 points, six rebounds and 1.8 assists a game while shooting 54% from the field.
OSU offered in early June. Since, Wake Forest and Michigan have came calling.
Omari Witherspoon
A 6-4 guard from Maryland, Omari Witherspoon has a bit more of a robust list, trimming his selection down to 10 schools: OSU, Butler, Clemson, George Mason, Maryland, Pitt, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Xavier.
Not all of the major services have ranked Witherspoon at this point, but On3 and 247Sports each list him as a three-star recruit. On3 considers him the No. 133 player in the class.
OSU is the latest program Witherspoon has announced an offer to — coming July 24.
He played on the Under Armour circuit this summer with DC Premier, where he averaged 14.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists a game.
