Brown, a former three-star prospect, played at the College of San Mateo before transferring to Hawaii and threw for over 1,800 yards and 21 touchdowns as a freshman in an option offense. Brown transferred and took over as a junior in 2016, leading the Rainbow Warriors to their first bowl game since 2010.
Brown has over 5,000 career passing yards and six career rushing touchdowns. He will join the Cowboys as a graduate transfer, although it’s unknown whether he will be on scholarship. Here’s a look at his career stats.
YEAR | CMP | ATT | PCT | YDS | TD | INT |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
2016 | 209 | 335 | 62.4 | 2488 | 19 | 7 |
2017 | 254 | 412 | 61.7 | 2785 | 18 | 8 |
Brown announced his decision to transfer in January, saying he wanted to be closer to home in California. “This decision has nothing to do with football,” Brown told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser in an interview. “My family comes before this game.”
