Video: Jordan Brailford Runs Blazing 4.65 40-Yard Dash at NFL Combine
Brailford’s strong offseason continues with another impressive mark in the Combine.
Jordan Brailford placed comfortably inside the top-10 performers in the 40-yard dash among edge rushers, defensive linemen and linebackers Sunday at the NFL Combine. His 4.65 was eighth-best among the dozens who participated, and second-fastest among ex-Big 12ers.
Overshadowed by Brailford’s bolt in the event was Mississippi State star Montez Sweat running a 4.41 (!) in the event, the fastest by a defensive linemen in the event since at least 2003. But Brailford, like his former OSU and Booker T. Washington teammate Justice Hill, made himself some money by running a very respectable time. (Hill ran a 4.40, the fastest among RBs this year.)
1. Montez Sweat, 4.41
2. Brian Burns, 4.53
3. Rashan Gary, 4.58
4. Chase Winovich, 4.59
5. Jamal Davis, 4.60
6. Ben Banogu, 4.62
7. Gerri Green, 4.63
8. Jordan Brailford, 4.65
9. Maxx Crosby, 4.66
10. John Cominsky, 4.69
Brailford’s 40 time eclipsed some other recent OSU showings in the event, too. Last year Mason Rudolph ran a 4.90, and Blake Jarwin logged a 4.69 at his pro day.

All this is great news for Brailford as he continues to make a strong showing ahead of the NFL Draft. The defensive line class this year is particularly deep, but with his strong showing in the bowl game, in his final season at OSU, and in the Shrine Game in addition to solid marks in the NFL Combine, he could be working his way up draft boards at just the right time.
