The Cowboys’ staff has been rolling on the recruiting trail in the high school ranks, and now the Pokes have a junior college defender on the way.

Christopher Robinson, a linebacker out of Kilgore College, announced his commitment to Oklahoma State on Wednesday. As a freshman with the Rangers this past season, Robinson made 38 tackles, two sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss in 11 games. Robinson will be on campus in Stillwater for the 2024 season, according to Pokes Report’s Zach Lancaster.

Kilgore listed Robinson at 6-foot-1, 210 pounds this past season, but on his X, he lists himself at 6-2, 220 and boasts a 4.4 40-yard dash.

OSU offered Robinson at the beginning of this month, joining the likes of Texas Tech, Houston, New Mexico and others after his services. OSU offered Robinson while he was on campus for an official visit.

Kilgore went 9-2 in Robinson’s freshman season, winning the Southwest Junior College Football Conference.

Robinson is originally out of Harker Heights High School. Harker Heights is a city north of Austin. The Knights went 12-2 in his high school senior season, making it to the quarterfinals of the Texas 6A-D2 playoffs. Robinson had 106 tackles, 27 tackles for loss, 8,5 sacks, an interception, six pass breakups, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery as a senior.

He adds to a linebacker room that lost Xavier Benson from last season. He’ll join a room that includes the likes of Nick Martin, Collin Oliver, Kendal Daniels (sort of?), Jeff Roberson, Gabe Brown, Justin Wright and others.

He’ll also come to Stillwater with three seasons of eligibility remaining having played only one year of junior college football.
