Late Line Movement Shifts Towards Texas Tech as Saturday Kick Approaches
Hmmmm.
When betting lines first opened for the Week 6 slate, Oklahoma State at Caesars Sportsbook was a 10-point home favorite over Texas Tech on its own orange turf Saturday. But as the week has wore on, the line has slowly trickled back in Texas Tech’s direction, with the line settling Saturday back into a single digit buffer.
The line dropped to -9.5 for OSU on Monday, where it held all week, but on Saturday morning it got to its lowest number yet, at -9. (Meaning OSU is a 9 point favorite.) Small but notable line movement that favors Texas Tech as kickoff approaches.
Texas Tech has been dreadful on the road this season with an 0-2 mark against the spread as away dogs to go with an 0-2 mark straight up as road dogs. They lost by double figures on the road to NC State last month and lost by nine a week ago on the road at Kansas State, failing to cover in both instances. The only game in which Tech has been an underdog but covered was two weeks ago when, as 7-point dogs at home, they won straight up by a field goal.
OSU has been a favorite in three of its four games this season and covered twice as the favorite by an average of 3.25 points. It also covered last week on the road as an underdog vs. Baylor, winning by 11 after entering the game as 2.5 point road dogs.
