FINAL | Oklahoma State 43, Houston 30

The Cowboys took it back, and then gave it back to Ollie Gordon. And things worked out for him.

Brennan Presley had a career game with 15 catches (second in OSU history). 189 receiving yards
Ollie Gordon took 25 handoffs for 164 yards and three TDs

Despite the pick-six, Alan Bowman bounced back nicely from last week.

He went 29-of-43 (67%) for two TDs and one INT.

Nickolas Martin added to his Big 12 lead, and added his fifth double-digit tackle game, with 12. He added three tackles for loss, a sack and a QB hurry.

Take it back Alert: Cam Smith seals it with his first career interception.

Never mind. Two-point gets called back thanks to a holding call.

Went for two and got it. Gordon takes the handoff in.

Didn’t matter: Ollie Gordon (though hampered) crosses the goal line for the third time today.

Mike Gundy sprinted down the sideline to call timeout. Looked like a potential pass play; after it was a handoff to Gordon. OSU just needs a FG to make it a two-possession game.

Ollie Gordon stomps the Cowboys through midfield and then Alan Bowman pays it off with a big 36-yard strike to Rashod Owens to make it first-and-goal.

Don’t count anything before it’s hatched.

Another big play from the Cougars. Houston pulls within six with seven and a half minutes remaining. The drive started with a 29-yard pass from Donovan Smith to Joseph Manjack IV and then capped by a 31-yard run by Smith. That’s seven Houston plays of 20 yards or more, but two of them came on that drive.

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 36, Houston 23

The Cowboys add to their lead with a 44-yard field goal. Hale is 3-for-3 with makes from 46, 21 and 44. Pokes up a baker’s dozen, having scored 27 unanswered.

After a tough seven-yard run, Ollie Gordon limps toward the sideline. But Brennan Presley is still feeding his career-game monster. He’s up to 183 receiving yards on 14 catches (on 17 targets!) with over 10 minutes to go.

The Cowboys get the stop either way. Cowboys get the ball back with 2:26 left in the third, up 10.

Never mind, the Cowboys get flagged for roughing the kicker and negate their second forced three-and-out.

The Cowboys’ defense has found Houston’s numbers.

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 32, Houston 23 | Q3 | 5:14

They just needed to give it to No. 0.

Gordon breaks left for 62 yards to the Houston 1 an nd then negates a silly rushed false start to score it from six. Cowboys have scored 24 staight.

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 26, Houston 23 | Q3 | 7:58

We’re back in business, folks.

The Cowboys take the lead with a tough six-yard Ollie Gordon run. The Cowboys take their first lead in the third quarter. The Pokes have scored 17 straight.

Early in the third, Presley has a career high 150 receiving yards. Seems low, let’s see if he can blow it out of the water.

Brennan Presley is going off. He probably had a touchdown on that one that got called out of bounds. I don’t think he was out.

Collin Oliver gets it back for the Cowboys the ball back with a big play on third down. Cowboys get it back.

HALFTIME | Oklahoma State 19, Houston 23

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 19, Houston 23 | Q2 | 0:00

Cowboys pay it off with a FG after they make it down to the Houston 4. OSU was down 23-9 with 4:16 left and the Cowboys pull back within five points at halftime. Cougs get the ball to start the third.

Big Play Alert: Brennan Presley Makes it Possible

The Cowboys take advantage of a stop and Bowman reels in a tough pass, through contact, to get the Cowboys within FG range with 25 seconds left in the half.

Presley has eight catches for 96 yards in two quarters.

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 16, Houston 23 | Q2 | 1:29

The Cowboys needed that one even worse. OSU turns a TO into points. Bowman finds Leon Johns III for his first TD of the season.

Big Play Alert: Trey Rucker just had to catch it for 29 yards. That was huge as the Cougars were driving down the field. OSU gets the ball at the Houston 21.

Donovan Smith drilled one to Trey Rucker who returned it

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 9, Houston 23 | Q2 | 4:16

Welpers. This is a truly humbling experience for an offense that was on fire for five week.s

Cowboys go three-and-out.

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 9, Houston 21 | Q2 | 10:14

The Cowboys get burned again, this time a 28-yard TD reception.

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 9, Houston 14 | Q2 | 12:59

Needed that one. Bowman steps back and finds Jaden Bray with a dime in the end zone. Cowboys close the dap. They won’t get stuck at 3.

But…. It appears the PAT was blocked. We’ll see if that comes back to haunt the Pokes

END OF Q1 | Oklahoma State 3, Houston 14

The Cowboys are bailed out by an unsportsmanlike penalty on Houston DB Isaiah Hamiton (CORRECTED: Jamal Morris) for taunting (he had the pick-six). The Cowboys get the first down instead of fourth-and-a mile. Bowman hits Presley for 14 and then Josiah Johson for six to get to midfield.

After the Cougars extended their lead, Bowman misses a questionable snap and falls on it for a loss of 11. Behind the chains.

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 3, Houston 14 | Q1 | 3:34

The Cougars extend the lead with 60-yard deep ball between Donovan Smith and Jonah Wilson. The Cowboys’ secondary getting burned a lot lately.

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 3, Houston 7 | Q1 | 3:34

The Cowboys decided to get the ball to their best player, and they at least got on the board. Alex Hale gets a 46-yarder to go and the Pokes have matched their scoring total from last week. It only took three drives.

Wait a second…. Ollie Gordon. Can carry… the ball?

Scoring Update: Oklahoma State 0, Houston 7 | Q1 | 7:43

A week after throwing three picks in the rain, Alan Bowman projects his intentions on the JumboTron and it turns into a pick-6.

I missed a drive and WELP.

The Cowboys got behind the chains and then on third-and-12, Bowman dumps it off to Ollie Gordon behind the line. Loses seven. Cowboys punt on opening possession. Whatever moment they wanted to steal by not deferring is gone.

Brennan Presley picks up 16 yards on the first play and then 10 on the second play. Two plays, two first downs. OSU had 15 total last week.

Cowboys win the toss, decide not to defer. Gundy wants the ball.

Injury Report: Looks like the Cowboys could get Jaden Bray back.

Uni Reveal: Pokes going W-W-B for final road game

The Cowboys are in Houston for their final road game of the regular season. Win and they remain tied for second place in the conference. Lose and they will have officially punted all the good graces they earned in the fanbase over that midseason five-game win streak.

Dana Holgorsen’s Cougars, on the other hand, haven’t strung together two wins all season. At 4-6, they need to win out just to go bowling.

Will the Cowboys spoil senior day and remain in Big 12 title hunt? We’re about to find out.
