Live Blog: Cowboys Thump Bearcats 45-13, Tie for Big 12 Lead

The Cowboys will look to add to their win streak against a Bearcats team that has yet to win in the Big 12.

It will be the two teams’ first meeting as conference foes and the first time Cincinnati has visited Stillwater since 1959. The Bearcats should get a proper welcome with a Saturday night game on Halloween weekend, and it’s America’s Greatest Homecoming.

Can the Cowboys keep their Big 12 title hopes alive or will the Bearcats play homecoming spoiler?

It took less than two minutes, but the Cowboys have found the end zone.

With the Cowboys short at wide receiver, Alan Bowman found his tight end Josiah Johnson for his first score at OSU, a 29-yard touchdown catch.

Not to be outdone, the Bearcats marched down the field and deep into Cowboy territory before UC kicker Carter Brown clanged one from 23 yards. Pokes still up 7-zip.

What started as a quick-scoring affair has settled down in the cold rain. The Cowboys take the lead back thanks to a 28-yard kick by Alex Hale.

Rashod Owens’ sideline catch was called a catch after review. That gave Ollie Gordon the chance to bust loose for 42 yards on a third-and-2. Then Alan Bowman found Brennan Presley for a 15-yard TD.

The Cowboys add to their lead with six-play drive at 2:41, which was still their longest of the day. Presley capped it with a 1-yard rush TD.

The Bearcats made it a hair more interesting with late fourth-quarter TD, but OSU was able to shut down the two-point attempt to keep it to 31-13.
