The Cowboys are set to add a 6-foot-4, 217-pound wide receiver who had more than 500 yards last season.

Christian Fitzpatrick, a transfer from Marshall, announced his commitment to Oklahoma State on Monday night. Fitzpatrick caught 34 passes for 576 yards and six touchdowns with the Thundering Herd this past season.

A member of the 2020 high school class, Fitzpatrick has also played a Louisville and Michigan State. He has caught 56 passes in his career for 848 yards and seven touchdowns.

Out of Southfield, Michigan, Fitzpatrick was a three-star prospect who committed to Louisville over offers from Oregon, Iowa State, West Virginia, Washington State, Boston College and others. He spent one season with the Cardinals before returning closer to home at Michigan State.

Fitzpatrick played three seasons with the Spartans. He took a big step forward in his final year with the program, catching 18 passes for 252 yards and his first touchdown.

He then transferred to Marshall and had his outstanding 2024 season. He made an instant impact in the Thundering Herd’s first two games of the season, catching four passes for 97 yards and a touchdown against Stony Brook before going to Virginia Tech and catching four passes for 73 yards and a touchdown.

Because his college career started back in 2020, his eligibility was up in the air a bit this offseason, but he announced last week that the NCAA had granted him another year. The Cowboys worked quick to get him on campus and after another reported visit to Virginia Tech, he chose OSU.

He becomes OSU’s fifth wide receiver transfer addition this offseason, moves the Cowboys had to do to try to recoup the losses of Brennan Presley, Rashod Owens and De’Zhaun Stribling. OSU added Shamar Rigby (Purdue), Sam Jackson V (Auburn) and Jaylen Lloyd (Nebraska) in the initial portal window. Then just last week the Cowboys landed Division-II All-American Cameron Abshire.
