Get Presley stock while you can.

For the fifth time in the last seven seasons, the Cowboys are bowl champs.

Oklahoma State defeated Miami in the Cheez-It Bowl 37-34 on Tuesday in Orlando. I already laid out my 10 Thoughts on the game, but here is my notebook from a wacky way to end the 2020 season.

  • Tylan Wallace is casually practicing his Dez Bryant-inspired X before kickoff with an OSU cameraman.
  • Backstreet’s Birmingham’s Back
  • OSU’s starting offensive line is Springfield, Birmingham, Schneider, Woodard and Sills.
  • Miami gave up 554 rushing yards in its last game. On OSU’s first possession, the Pokes ran the ball zero times and scored. Eat that stat nerds.
  • Also, without a starting kicker, Gundy goes for it on four-and-medium from Miami’s 31. I wonder if there is a specific yard line where OSU punts from.
  • Players got a $400 Amazon gift card for competing in this game. Miami’s punter is probably trying to find a tattoo guy on Amazon.
  • After a touchdown run, LD Brown made the U hand sign and broke it over his knee. The Hurricane faithful aren’t going to take kindly to that if the Texas folk are any indication of disrespecting hand signs.
  • Is this going to be a boat race? A dog walk? A blowout? (It was not)
  • Brennan Presley is electric. He has two catches in OSU’s first three drives for 62 yards and two touchdowns.
  • This change of direction was immaculate:
  • Miami has showed up after spotting OSU a 21-0 lead to start the second quarter.
  • Presley stock should’ve been bought a long time ago, but if you can get your hands on some now, you should still turn a healthy profit.
  • OSU misses a field goal. This team has had a hard time running away from people. This next defensive series will be a big one.
  • Dang, D’Eriq King goes down on a gnarly looking knee injury. This game is just more fun with him in it. That stinks. I hope he is OK.
  • Update on a note from above: OSU punts from Miami’s 41 after a muffed Miami punt.
  • After a breakneck start, OSU takes a 21-10 lead into the half.
  • These Miami wide receivers might hate this backup quarterback. Three big-time drops since he has been in.
  • OSU kind of looks like a sprinter running a marathon.
  • To add to OSU looking lost, Spencer Sanders got his throwing hand stepped on after a third-down run.
  • A generous spot gives Miami a first down on fourth down, and the Hurricanes go on to score a touchdown but fail a 2-point conversion on another questionable officiating call.
  • These officials are as shaky as OSU right now. Equally stinking both ways, but yeesh.
  • After allowing 19 unanswered points, OSU is on a 10-0 run. This isn’t basketball.
  • Tylan Wallace is out the second half in what was apparently a premeditated decision from Mike Gundy.
  • Miami scores, and OSU maturely answers. Miami scores again, and OSU goes three-and-out.
  • What a PBU from Thomas Harper.
  • OSU has another three-and-out, but the Cowboys’ defense locks it up because 2020.
  • Good portions of the end: Josh Sills waves bye to Miami players, and Mike Gundy gets Cheez-Its poured on him. 2020.
