Mason Rudolph Talks Health, NFL Draft Prep With NFL Network
Mason Rudolph was a late scratch from the Senior Bowl due to a lingering foot injury that has him in a walking boot.
As expected, though, the injury couldn’t keep him away from the event. So Rudolph made the haul to get his measurements taken, meet with coaches, and of course, make the media rounds to get his name out there and further the #SpreadQBTransitioningtoNFL awareness movement.
On Tuesday, he did an enlightening interview on NFL Network where he shed light on his injury situation, timeline on recovery, his expected transition to the NFL and more. Below is a highlight of the conversation.
Question: How is the foot?
Rudolph: It’s doing good. After this week, it will have been three weeks in the boot. Met with the doctors at USC, Dr. Anderson, who recommended I not play in the game … I’ll be out of [the boot] in a week, then start upping physical therapy and should be 100 percent for the combine.
Question: Texas played you differently; what challenge did they present?
Rudolph: They have a really physical front seven. They play in a two hole, pre-aligned middle safety instead of dropping to Tampa, and they forced us to run the ball and take the underneath stuff which was frustrating. I had to check down a little more, but they held us and the defense bailed us out.
