Newcomer Tracker: OSU Gets Some Help from Freshmen, JUCO Transfer in Week 1
A progress report for first-year Cowboys.
Oklahoma State parlayed inexperience into production in Week 1 of the football season, using several newcomers to make an impact in its 58-17 season-opener on Thursday.
All told, seven total freshmen — a huge chunk of which were defensive players — saw the field for the first time as Cowboys. Junior college defensive end transfer Mike Scott (no, not that Mike Scott), also played in his first live-game action.
