NFL Roundup: Emmanuel Ogbah and Vincent Taylor Both Blocked Kicks
Several former Cowboys were active during this week’s slate of NFL games. Let’s take a look at how each fared across the league.
Dez Bryant
Bryant entered the rainy tilt against division rival Washington and on-field and in-commercial rival defensive back Josh Norman needing just one receiving touchdown to be the all-time leader in Dallas Cowboy history. The score eluded him but he led all Cowboys with 39 yards on four catches. He was targeted just six time as the Cowboys leaned heavy on the ground game and Ezekiel Elliott — while they have him.
Dan Bailey
Bailey missed the first game of his seven-year NFL career after he was injured against the 49ers. It appears the groin strain he suffered could keep the most accurate kicker in NFL history sidelined at least until Thanksgiving and possibly longer according to an ESPN report.
Vincent Taylor
A week after the rookie didn’t dress, Taylor was back to his old kick-blocking ways. On Thursday night, he blocked a 46-yard field goal attempt be Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker. But it didn’t help the Dolphins getting any closer than a 40-0 loss.
Emmanuel Ogbah
Not to be outdone by his former teammate, Ogbah blocked his own kick, on a extra point attempt against the Minnesota Vikings in London. His Browns are still chasing that elusive first win but Ogbah continues to make plays like this pass deflection on Vikings quarterback Case Keenum.
Russell Okung
Okung and his Chargers fell to the New England Patriots 21-13, but his offensive line kept their QB relatively clean with one sack during Philip Rivers’ 212-yard, one-TD, one-interception performance. He continues to be one of the least-sacked starting QBs in the NFL with 11 on the year.
Lane Taylor
The Packers were on a bye week which was welcomed by Taylor who is still rehabbing the ankle injury that took him out of the game a couple weeks ago.
On Bye
Lane Taylor (Packers), Lenzy Pipkens (Packers), Tyler Patmon (Jaguars), Kevin Peterson (Rams)
